Westside Urban Renewal District online info-session planned
The City of Hood River is advancing its plans to create a new Urban Renewal District on the Westside of Hood River. The purpose of this new district will be to establish funding for the City’s ambitious plans and goals set in the Transportation System Plan, Affordable Housing Strategy, and Multi-Jurisdictional Parks Master Plan. Each of these plans stemmed from research, planning and public input to understand how best to meet the community’s needs and plan for its future.
After receiving the results of a financial feasibility study, the City Council voted to move forward with the development of the Westside Urban Renewal District Plan. The plan will establish the boundary of the district and identify projects to be completed within the district.

You may be wondering, what is an Urban Renewal District? How will this affect my taxes if I live within the district? What are the projects this district hopes to fulfill? We will be answering all these questions, and any more you may have during an online information session. You can also read the Urban Renewal Frequently Asked Questions and watch a short Urban Renewal 101 video at cityofhoodriver.gov/urban-renewal.
The information session will be held on Tuesday, May 23rd, from 6 – 7 pm on Zoom.
Please register for the webinar here https://bit.ly/3LCLYCn, and make sure to specify any accommodations you may need. Individuals requesting accommodations, such as Spanish Language Translation, will need to register with their request by May 21st at midnight. A recording of the presentation will be available on the City’s website, as well as a survey after the info-session. We encourage all to attend and participate.
