Overview
Parking in downtown Hood River during peak times is limited and can be challenging. In order to manage parking and allow for regular turnover of spaces, the City utilizes a combination of metered parking spaces and parking permits for the downtown core.
Various types of Parking Permits include Work Permits, Short-term Permits, and others which may be applicable for users. It’s important for the public to understand that the City employs a full-time Community Service Officer to patrol the downtown area for parking compliance. As of March 2nd 2020, the City of Hood River has additional parking payment options and has eliminated “payment receipts” from the pay-stations. You can still pay with coins at meters and the Cale pay-stations will continue to accept cash or credit cards.
Parking customers also have the option of using a mobile app to pay for parking. Customers may choose from two different apps: Passport Parking and ParkMobile. Apps enable users to electronically pay for parking without using coins at a meter or pay-station. The new Mobile apps will work in all Pay to Park spaces including all city’s parking lots.
“Pay by Plate” requires users to enter license plate numbers when paying for parking at the Cale pay-stations, eliminating the need to return to the vehicle to place a printed payment receipt on the dashboard.
