Message from the Mayor
2020 was one of the most challenging years imaginable for the City and all the citizens of our community. I am optimistic that with vaccines now being distributed, and with continued diligence of community members to social distance and wear masks, we will have some semblance of normalcy by late summer. Many thanks to our residents, businesses, essential workers and first responders for your many efforts during this public health crisis.
City Council held its annual Work Plan session earlier this month. Council and City staff have set many goals for 2021 with much work ahead to make progress on them all. I have every confidence that we will make significant accomplishments in these areas with the dedicated, hard-working staff and Council we currently have. I’d like to personally thank the 125 community members who provided input into Council goals and projects through our website and paper surveys. Your opinions and ideas made for a productive work session and a 2021 Council Work Plan with important projects ahead.
With many active projects currently, the City’s website now includes an Input Page that the City plans to update periodically with a variety projects and opportunities to offer input. Visit it at cityofhoodriver.gov/input. Always feel free to email me your thoughts as well to K.McBride@cityofhoodriver.gov.
