FIREFIGHTER / PARAMEDIC
Hood River Fire & EMS is currently building an eligibility list for Firefighter Paramedics as well as hiring for one immediate opening. To fill out an application and schedule a test, go to www.nationaltestingnetwork.com, select FIRE and sign up for Hood River Fire & EMS. This position requires FireTEAM and a valid CPAT that is valid within the last 6 months. All scores must be submitted by March 8th, 2020 5 PM PST to be considered for the current eligibility list.
Upon completion of the entry-level exam and CPAT testing, all candidate scores are automatically forwarded to Hood River Fire & EMS. Candidates who attain a passing score on both the entry-level exam and the physical abilities test will be placed on the department’s eligibility list. Hood River Fire and EMS will contact candidates on the list and will invite them to continue to participate in other stages of the department selection process.
Salary Information: Salary per month $5,484 – $6,232 (including 9.0% paramedic incentive). As of this job announcement, the contract is still open and under negotiation. The International Association of Fire Firefighters (IAFF) Local 3256 represents firefighter/paramedic positions.

PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
The Public Works Director is a self-directed and highly accountable position providing oversight, direction and leadership to the Public Works Department. The Public Works Director is responsible for a full range of Public Works services through a talented staff and has the ability to work through independent action and decision making within the framework of Council goals and general direction of the City Manager. The Director develops and administers the department budget and directs the forecast of additional funds as needed. It is anticipated that, if qualified the Public Works Director would serve as the City Engineer. BUILDING PLANS EXAMINER/INSPECTOR
The City of Hood River is currently looking for a part time Building Inspector or a combination Building Inspector and Plans Examiner to support up to 20 hours of work per week. The City of Hood River currently performs mechanical and structural plan review and inspections. Work can be performed over the course of 2-5 days per week during hours of operation. Individual administers and enforces state building codes (structural and mechanical) within the City of Hood River and acts as a technical expert.
Flexible schedule, may work up to 20 hours weekly. Pay range $29.48-36.26, open until filled with first review March 15, 2020.
