PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
The Public Works Director is a self-directed and highly accountable position providing oversight, direction and leadership to the Public Works Department. The Public Works Director is responsible for a full range of Public Works services through a talented staff and has the ability to work through independent action and decision making within the framework of Council goals and general direction of the City Manager. The Director develops and administers the department budget and directs the forecast of additional funds as needed. It is anticipated that, if qualified the Public Works Director would serve as the City Engineer. BUILDING PLANS EXAMINER/INSPECTOR
The City of Hood River is currently looking for an experienced Building Inspector/Plans Examiner to join the Building Department part time with a flexible work week of 20-30 hours. The City currently performs mechanical and structural plan review and inspections. Work can be performed over the course of 2-5 days per week in coordination with the Building Official. Individual administers and enforces state and local building codes (structural and mechanical) within the City of Hood River and acts as a technical expert. Pay range $31.62-38.89 with benefit opportunities, open until filled with first review March 25, 2020.
