Mission Statement
To provide the highest level of public service to the community of Hood River by preserving life and property through compassionate and professional fire and emergency medical response.
Overview
Hood River Fire & EMS is responsible for ensuring that our people and equipment are ready to safely and effectively respond to fire, emergency medical and other 911 calls. The department maintains this capability with a minimum of four (4) firefighter/paramedics on-duty around the clock, responding from our station within the City of Hood River and our 145 square mile Ambulance Service Area (ASA) in Hood River and Wasco Counties. As of July 2023, we have a 40-hour firefighter to assist during our busiest times of the week thanks to a grant from the Office of State Fire Marshal..
