General Information
The Hood River Municipal Court, a crucial entity in our community, is responsible for processing citations and complaints issued by the City of Hood River Police Department, the City Attorney, the City Prosecutor, and private citizens.
The Municipal Court staff, while unable to provide legal advice (ORS 9.160), are readily available to answer questions about court schedules and other administrative matters, such as payment plan inquiries. If you require legal advice, we encourage you to consult an attorney. The majority of cases heard in Municipal Court are related to traffic infractions. Generally, court appearance dates and times are not rescheduled. However, if you need to reschedule your first court appearance, please call 541-386-3942 to verify if you are eligible to do so.
PROPER COURTROOM ETIQUETTE
The following standards, which are strictly enforced, are crucial to maintaining the decorum of the Courtroom:
- Clothes and shoes are required.
- Backpacks are not allowed in the Courtroom.
- Caps and hats must be removed upon entering the Courtroom.
- Weapons are PROHIBITED in the Courtroom and in City Hall (firearms, knives, or any device and substance that may cause harm)
- Food and drinks are not allowed in the Courtroom.
- Children are not permitted in the Courtroom.
While in the Courtroom:
- No loud talking or side conversations
- Cell phones and other electronic devices must be silenced or turned off
- Audio and video recording is not permitted WITHOUT the Judge’s prior authorization
