The City Council is comprised of six council members and the Mayor. The City Council meets every second and fourth Monday evening each month at City Hall, 211 2nd Street, Hood River. Mayor Blackburn submitted his resignation in May and attended his final City Council meeting on August 26, 2019. Blackburn, who served periods as mayor or council member since 2004, handed the gavel over to Council President Kate McBride. McBride will serve as Mayor Pro Tem, per City by-law, until a new mayor is appointed on September 23.
Blackburn will move to Washington D.C. in September, 2019 as his wife, Dr. Kristen Dillon serves a one-year healthcare fellowship.
