The City Council is comprised of six council members and the Mayor. The City Council meets every second and fourth Monday evening each month at City Hall, 211 2nd Street, Hood River. Mayor Blackburn submitted his resignation in May and attended his final City Council meeting on August 26, 2019. Blackburn, who served periods as mayor or council member since 2004, handed the gavel over to Council President Kate McBride. McBride served as Mayor Pro Tem, per City by-law, until she was appointed new mayor by a City Council vote on September 23.
Blackburn moved to Washington D.C. in September, 2019 with his wife, Dr. Kristen Dillon who is serving a one-year healthcare fellowship.
