Mariposa Village: Affordable Housing Project Moves Forward

The City of Hood River has taken a major step toward expanding affordable housing in the community. On April 17, the City — in partnership with Community Development Partners (CDP) and the Columbia-Cascade Housing Corporation (CCHC) — officially closed on the Mariposa Village project, formerly known as the 780 Rand Road development.
This milestone means all agreements are in place, funding secured, and building permits are ready to be issued. The closing finalizes ownership transfers, secures financing, and formally commits all project partners to move forward with construction.
Mariposa Village will bring 130 units of affordable housing to Hood River along with a new public park, trail access, and enhanced crosswalk at Rand Rd. Construction is set to begin soon, and is expected to take approximately two years. At this time, there is no waitlist or sign-up available for Mariposa Village. However, individuals interested in affordable housing options in the region can reach out to the Mid-Columbia Housing Authority (MCHA) to learn more about current opportunities: mid-columbiahousingauthority.org/
