Columbia Street Utility and Roadway Improvements Continue

The City of Hood River is making steady progress on the Columbia Street Utility and Roadway Improvements Project, located between 8th and 10th Streets. Construction is on track to be completed by October.
This project involves replacing aging water and sewer lines, installing new ADA-compliant curb ramps, and removing deteriorated concrete roadway, which will be replaced with new asphalt. These upgrades are part of the City’s ongoing efforts to modernize essential infrastructure and improve accessibility and safety for all users.
Columbia Street between 8th and 10th will remain closed to through traffic until mid-September. Local access will be maintained as much as possible during construction.
The City remains committed to investing in infrastructure that supports a safe, reliable, and resilient community for years to come.
