Thank you for your input!
Project Background:
The City of Hood River continues work on a major update of its Development Code, which regulates how land can be used and developed.
Community Input:
The project team, which includes the consulting firm MIG and City staff, drafted options in discussion with the Hood River Planning Commission and City Council. The team met with stakeholders and other people who expressed interest in the project, including property owners, builders, neighborhood groups, partnering public agencies, Spanish-speaking community members, and others.
The City also hosted several brief online questionnaires to gather input from the broader community. The five surveys generated more than 550 responses. Participants shared their thoughts on topics such as design and development standards, public notification practices, outdoor lighting, tree preservation, and other code-related issues. A summary of the responses is available on the project webpage: cityofhoodriver.gov/planning/development-code-audit-and-update/
Next steps:
The project team is in the process of updating and combining draft code amendments based on community feedback. The Planning Commission and City Council are expected to meet in May to review the draft amendments. Announcements will be made once meeting dates are confirmed.
I missed earlier meetings and questionnaires; can I still give input?
