Upgrades to City Parks and Trails

A new sidewalk path that provides access to Children’s Park from the south.

Some city parks are getting a makeover this spring! The City Public Works Department is hard at work to maintain amenities and enhance the safety and beauty of our parks.

Recently completed upgrades include:

  • A new sidewalk path that provides access to Children’s Park from the south.
  • A new bench and bike rack installed at the top of the Second Street stairs on Montello.

Upcoming projects include:

  • Renovations of the sandy beach at Waterfront Park. 
  • Installation of a Little Free Earth Lab (a free science and art sharing station thanks to a donation from the Hood River County School District) at Waucoma Park. 
  • Installation of a fence along the south and west edges of Children’s Park.
