Construction will continue this week to wrap up the Eugene Street Water/Wastewater project with ADA ramps at 12th and Eugene, as well as some work on 17th between May and Sherman on the water system. This will completely disconnect the water services from the old lines and move them over to the new lines. This project is a part of a larger to replace lead-jointed waterlines and aging clay sewer pipes throughout the City.
December 14, 2023
Construction to replace the water and wastewater lines along Eugene Street from 9th – 12th street is nearing completion. Utilities, and paving are completed. Sidewalks and ADA curbs are expected to be completed this week. The final two ADA curbs on 12th street are expected to be complete in Spring 2024.
October 5, 2023
Eugene St between 9th and 12th will be paved on Tuesday Oct. 10th. They will be grinding the old asphalt out on Monday Oct. 9th.
The road will be closed overnight Monday night and will reopen at the end of the day on Tuesday.

Work on the Eugene Water/Sewer Construction continues with the following milestones:
- All waterline portions of the project are complete.
- Sewer will be completed this week.
- Rebuilding 10th and 11th between Sherman and Eugene has started this week.
- Paving operations for Eugene are scheduled to begin October 9th.

The City of Hood River is expecting to begin construction on the Eugene Street Water and Sewer Replacement Project on July 10th. This first phase of the project will focus on Eugene Street from 9th-12th Streets. Travelers can expect the Westbound lane to be closed, with detours and flaggers rerouting traffic. Final paving is anticipated to be completed by mid-October, while side streets are scheduled for reconstruction during spring of 2024.
