PAVING NOTICE: Taylor Ave and A Street – Monday Sept. 14th-Tuesday Sept. 15th, 2026
As the City finalizes the water replacement project on Taylor and A Streets, we will be paving/trench patch paving:
Taylor Ave on Monday Sept. 14th, 2026, from 6am to 6pm.
A Street & 15th Street on Tuesday Sept. 15th, 2026, 6am to 6pm
All vehicles must be removed from the designated work zones before paving operations begin at 6am. Vehicles remaining within the designated work zone may be towed at the owner’s expense.
Please expect travel delays and street closures in the project areas and plan ahead. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we update critical water infrastructure in the City.

Work on A Street is progressing smoothly. All of the water lines have been laid. Next steps include testing, followed by hookups.
The work on Taylor Ave has been completed, but is awaiting a final patch paving. Final paving will be completed on both Taylor and A once work on A has been completed.
July 7, 2026
Good news for folks on Taylor Ave! Construction on Taylor will be wrapping up in the next couple of weeks. This week, crews are finalizing water connections, and will focus on completing the mainline connection next week.
Next week, the team will also begin work on the A Street portion of this water replacement project. Final trench patching will occur for both Taylor and A Streets once both portions of the projects are complete, with temporary patching in place until then.

Construction is currently underway on the water replacement project on Taylor Ave. Crews are hoping to complete the majority of the work by early July before moving onto the A Street portion of the project. Crews will then return to Taylor to complete patching the road over the course of a few days.

The City of Hood River two projects this Spring as part of ongoing lead joint replacement efforts. Please note that lead joints have posed no danger, the pipes are not lead, and no lead has been detected in the water.
Taylor Avenue Water Replacement
The waterline along Taylor Avenue from 18th to 13th will be replaced. The project is currently in the final stages of design, with construction anticipated to begin by June, and completed by October.
A Street Water Replacement
The waterline along A Street from 18th to 13th, as well as 15th Street from A to B Streets will be replaced. The project is currently in the final stages of design, with construction anticipated to begin by June, and completed by October.
