UPDATE on ODOT ADA curb ramp construction on US 30 (Oak Street and Cascade Ave)
While the contractor continues to upgrade sidewalk curb ramps in Hood River, we want to keep you informed about the progress of the project. Work is happening along U.S. 30 in Hood River which is Oak Street and Cascade Avenue. Here are a few updates on the project:
Downtown core of the project (1st Street to 6th Street)
- The ADA curb ramps on the NE corner of Oak Street and 3rd Street are the final ramps under construction in the downtown core. Pedestrian detours are in place while work is happening.
- Remaining work downtown includes striping, sign installation, minor paving and concrete corrective work. Expect short-term lane closures during this work.
- Due to several unforeseen circumstances, work in this section will not finish before the Memorial Day holiday weekend as originally planned. The new estimate for work completion is early June.
West end of the project (7th Street to Mt. Adams Avenue)
- Work is ongoing in this section including upgrading the remaining ADA ramps, striping and sign installation.
- The 24/7 lane closure at Oak Street and 13th Street will continue into early June.
- The remaining work in this section is expected to finish in July.
We appreciate your patience as we complete this important work.
