Intersection paving at 4th and Montello is complete. The team is currently preparing for paving east of 2nd through the dead end. Paving is expected to occur next week, weather permitting.

Intersection Closure Alert
On the week of October 14, the intersection of 4th and Montello will be closed Monday-Thursday with detours, during the day for paving. The intersection will reopen in the evening, however, please use caution as it will be unpaved. In particular, people travelling by bicycle should use caution when travelling through the intersection due to the uneven terrain.

A closure with detours is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17 at the intersection of Montello and 4th.
September 5, 2024
Progress is advancing on-schedule to complete the project before winter. The sewer line replacement is completed, and the water line replacement is in the final stages. Remaining work includes installation of a pressure release valve, and concrete work including [paving and grading. Due to the need to reshape the road, please expect detours on 4th street in the upcoming weeks.
August 5, 2024
Detours are scheduled this week at the intersection of Montello and 4th. The project team is completing storm and curb gutters. The gas company will be relocating their line.
May 30, 2024
The project is continuing on-schedule, and expected to complete sewer line and connections this week.
Next, the project team will begin working on the new water line and connections.

The project crew has delayed crossing 4th Street until the week of May 20th. While crossing, the community can expect a closure at 4th Street with detours

Upcoming traffic impacts – 4th Street is scheduled to be closed on May 15th with a detour.
April 30, 2024
Construction is currently underway. Crews started work on 2nd and Montello and are heading west.
April 16, 2024
Gas relocations and preliminary work is completed. The construction team will be moving in this week to begin the work on replacing the water and sewer lines. The bulk of work is expected to take place Monday-Thursday, however there may be intermittent construction on Fridays as necessary.

Construction on the Montello Water and Wastewater Replacement project is expected to begin in April of 2024.
December 18, 2023
Work on Montello Avenue from 2nd – 6th Streets is expected to begin in Spring 2023 to replace leaded joints and old clay sewer lines.
