Mayor Paul Blackburn of Hood River is continuing his practice of inviting the community for a slice of pie. His next Pie with the Mayor session will be held on Saturday, April 27 from 1-2 pm at Pine Street Bakery in Hood River.
Blackburn initially started hosting Pie with the Mayor during a previous term as Mayor back in 2015. “The people of Hood River are very important to me, and I want to make sure there are plenty of opportunities for anyone who would like to talk with me to do so,” said Mayor Blackburn.
While there are more formal processes for addressing City Council and the Mayor, such as during business from the audience at City Council meetings, increasing access to elected officials and policy-makers has been a longtime goal for the City. Pie with the Mayor is one of the many ways that the community can come and address their concerns in a more casual setting. As an elected representative, he wants people to know that he is available to talk, and everyone is invited.
