City of Hood River Declares State of Emergency in Response to ICE Impacts on Community
The City of Hood River declared a State of Emergency on December 12, 2025. At their regular meeting on December 8, 2025, the Hood River City Council directed City Manager Elder to make the declaration, which will be ratified or amended at their next meeting on January 12, 2026. In addition to the emergency declaration, the City of Hood River will host listening sessions to hear from impacted community members, train staff on Sanctuary State laws and how to respond to requests from ICE, consider a resolution for Sanctuary City status, and continue to work with other Oregon cities and local Community-Based Organizations on further actions to take to support impacted community members.
