Update January 2025 – Upgrades at Mann Park have been delayed due to wet ground conditions. The park is expected to reopen in Spring of 2025.
Beginning Tuesday, September 17, Mann Park will be closed for playground upgrades. The park will remain closed until all work is completed.
The construction and upgrades to the park include removing the old equipment, excavation of the new playground footprint area, pouring of a concrete border, and the installation of the new playground equipment which will includes a six-swing set, toddler play structure, a two to 12-year-old play structure, benches, and boulders.
Efforts to improve the playground were spearheaded by a community initiative of the Hood River Lion’s Club (e-clubhouse.org/sites/hoodriver/), the local branch of the international humanitarian service club, with a donation of $82,000 to purchase the playground equipment. The City is covering the remaining renovation costs and site-preparation work.
Please follow closure instructions posted on signs for everyone’s safety and the efficiency of construction.
