Safe Routes to School: Shared-use Path Installed at Middle School

Safe Routes to Schools is making progress in Hood River. The City of Hood River’s Public Works Department installed a shared-use path to welcome Hood River Middle Schoolers back to school. The permanent, thermoplastic two-way path follows the east side of 18th Street between May Street and Belmont Avenue. Parking is prohibited in the path.
This installation is a result of the Safe Routes to Schools Plan and positive feedback of the 2023 demonstration project at the Hood River Middle School. Learn more about Safe Routes to School in Hood River online at cityofhoodriver.gov/community/safe-routes-to-schools/.
