Message from the City Manager
Hello Hood River! I am thrilled to be here with you and appreciate the warm welcome that I’ve received in my first few weeks here. Hood River is an energetic, vibrant community with a great quality of life. It’s been a pleasure to learn more about what makes Hood River a truly special place to live, work, recreate, and do business.
A city manager wears many hats: carrying out City Council’s vision and direction; managing city services and policies; and leading city staff. In my short time here, I’ve been impressed by the dedication and professionalism of the people who work here. They are committed to public service and to careful stewardship of your tax dollars.
Your City Council has identified important city priorities including housing; equity and inclusion; transportation; maintenance and infrastructure; sustainability and resilience; parks and open space. There are tremendous opportunities in each area. They are best realized when government, businesses, non-profits, and residents work together.
It is a privilege to serve as your city manager. Thank you for this opportunity to serve and I look forward to working along side you in service to a strong, resilient, and welcoming city.
