East Hood River streets reconditioning project, involving Sherman St. between 2nd and 6th streets, Hazel, E. 3rd, E. 4th streets and Lover’s Lane was delayed one day due to a heavy rain downpour on August 29. The project concluded successfully on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd.
After resurfacing streets with a chip seal overlay, a final fog seal (thick tar coating with polymers) was applied, followed by painting and thermoplastic application for parking stalls and other street demarcations.
“We are very appreciative of residents’ understanding and cooperation as we provide several more years of travel on these streets,” relayed Public Works Operations Manager Andrew Jackson. “We are pleased to bring this project to a close.”
